Feelings, Fears and Emotional Support

Splints

We're facing our first operation in two weeks time and are just a tad nervous (of course). One thing that really concerns me are the dreaded splints - what are everyone's experiences with these things? Has anyone here been in a situation where splints weren't used?

I discovered this web site today, have read through and so far only see parents of cleft children. I think this site is awesome, I am glad there is a place to come and connect. How am I supposed to feel?

My son was born with a cleft lip and palate. It was not picked up on any of my scans during my pregnancy so when he came out, I was a little shocked. I went through a miriad of emotion.
