I was wondering if anyone's baby had trouble breathing with stints in their nose. Chloe's only initial trouble after her cleft lip surgery is that her pulse ox kept dropping during feeding and sleeping. We had to keep oxygen running right next to her at those times. my son Josh had his palate repair about 4 weeks ago now - he had a complete bilateral cleft lip and palate at birth.

we have always used the haberman/special needs bottle - but I am so sick of these, always leaking and now that he drinks quicker - the haberman does not let the milk keep coming through as he sucks and we have to constantly interupt him to refill the teat!!! Read The Rest »

Hi there
My name is Sheree, I am new to this site - my son Joshua was born with a complete bilateral cleft lip and palate.

Josh is scheduled to have his palate repair on the 30th Nov - I was just wondering whether any one out there who has been through this as a parent has any advice/information for me about this operation? recovery time? time in hospital etc.
