A VOLUNTEER surgical team from the United States has brought smiles back – literally – to 67 Zimbabwean kids with facial deformities.

A group of American surgeons will visit Zimbabwe next month to conduct free corrective surgery on children and adults with disabling mouth conditions known as cleft lip and cleft palates.

THE two-week cleft lip and cleft palate operations, which ended on Saturday at Harare Children's Hospital, were completed successfully, Deputy Minister of Health and Child Welfare Dr Edwin Muguti has said.
