The question I'd get quite a bit when people would see her in her arm restraints following a surgery. While it was a completely innocent question, it was annoying to be asked if she'd broken BOTH her arms.
When I saw a photo of myself in my splints, I asked my parents if I had broken my arms. I was in middle school when I saw the picture, and apparently didn't remember ever having them.
I'm sure in the beginning it probably seemed pretty overwhelming for my parents. Daddy was deployed often - back then Marines deployed for two years at a time and families didn't travel with them. They stayed behind. Read The Rest »
