Gromets and plane travel

We are taking a 1-hour plane trip to London next week and since Lars now has the gromets I am wondering if this can cause problems? I forgot to ask the doctor but she is away for two weeks now.

Thank you

Hello there Christian, our

Hello there Christian,

our little girl doesn't have gromets but whenever we fly I find that sucking on a bottle during take-off and landing definitely makes a difference. I find that when I try to swallow or drink during take-off and landing, that it has the same effect - it equalises the pressure.

Good luck.

Gromets are better

Actually, gromets keep the inner ear open to the outside which means that the ear will equalize pressure just fine. It's only when there's no gromets that we need to try to equalize in another way. Since Jennifer's had gromets we've never had any problems (and we've been on quite a few trips), not once. I think you'll be just fine.
