Year-end thank you email from Brian, Co-Founder of Smile Train

Hi,

I must admit, I am kind of relieved to see 2009 come to an end. It was by far our most difficult fundraising year ever.

Many of the new donors we expected never got on board, many of our existing donors reduced their donations, and thousands of our donors just stopped giving altogether. You can’t blame them when unemploymentRadha 5 years India hits 10%, the stock market crashes, the real estate bubble pops, etc. Hopefully, 2010 will be kinder to all of us.

I am writing today to ask, if you are in a position to, to consider sending us an end of year donation – of any amount.

As this year ends, we still have thousands of children like Radha in India who have been waiting for years and years to get surgery. For the vast majority of these children, Smile Train is their only hope.

These kids need our help.

And we still need yours.

On behalf of all 42 employees here at Smile Train, thank you for helping us get through this tough year and Happy New Year to you and yours!
